Description The Aeronautical Engineer is responsible for design, analysis, and verification of aircraft systems. The Aeronautical Engineer applies industry standard techniques in support of aircraft / design & modification programs. This position requires a strong background performing computational fluid dynamics analysis, utilizing StarCCM. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: • Analyze aerodynamics impacts due to external modifications, loads impacts due to external and internal modifications, developing mission profiles based on customer requirements • Model/calculate mission performance data including takeoff and landing data, climb/descent, and enroute performance • Analyze configurations using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) • Experience with internal flows including modeling heat transfer • Participate in the engineering development and support of new / modified / re-engineered subsystems / products within our proven phased development process, including modeling, proof of concept, and implementation, and fielded system support • Additional tasks may include support for wind tunnel, and aerodynamics coordination with multi-discipline teams including modification teams, logistics support, and other engineering disciplines • Participate in certification / qualification testing and reporting • Articulate formal design reviews and present design data to external and internal customers. • Plan, manage and execute flight test programs showing compliance to 14 CFR Part 23, Part 25 and MIL-HDBK-516B requirements. Someone who has just worked in a wind-tunnel is a red flag. They need to be able to do the analysis work. This is not the mission system testing, but rather the flight testing. Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $68.86 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
