Aerospace Mechanical Engineer


Position Overview:

As a newly hired employee in the Mechanical Engineer – Aerospace Direct Hire Program, you will work in a dynamic, fast paced environment working on technology and components for the next generation of military and commercial aircraft. This includes research, design, development and testing for mechanical systems, products, components, and applications for space, military and commercial aerospace and related applications.
 

Provide technical design, analysis, and guidance for new product development, product improvements, test components, rigs, and systems. Lead and participate in efforts to solve problems with product design, inspection, manufacturing, and test encountered by vendors, company operations personnel, and customers.Serve as technical contact and liaison between Mechanical Engineering and internal and external customers.Coordinate with Project Engineering and Program Management to support targets and milestones for project budgets and schedules.Creates and/or guides the creation of technical documents, including Engineering drawings (following ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.34 standards), test procedures, test reports, and design review material. Supports IR&D projects and implementation of new technologies such as Additive Manufacturing.Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
 

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution, with a graduation date before August 2025Minimum of one internship or co-op experience completed at the time of this applicationMinimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 Geographic flexibility to relocate within the United StatesThis position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
 

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineeringOverall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higherDemonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or communityTwo or more relevant internships or co-op experiencesDesign engineering experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts


Position Criteria:
 

This role may include travel (up to 25%) within a local region as determined by the Assignment ManagerAbility to relocate to one of the following Eaton facilities: Davenport, IA or Orchard Park, NY

 

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The salary for this role is $75,000 - $80,000 a year, dependent on location and qualifications met. This position offers a one-time $6,000 signing bonus and relocation package.
