Aerostat Operator\/Maintainer II

General Description\n

Tyonek is performing operations and sustainment support for the Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations office. Tyonek is seeking an Aerostat Operator Level II. The successful candidate will have experience supporting aerostat flight operations on platforms similar in size to the TARS aerostats.\n

Duties\n\nSupport aerostat pre-launch, launch, ascent, transition, station keeping, and recovery.\nPerform recurring equipment maintenance on aerostat and radar systems.\nTroubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.\nRead and understand schematics, technical drawings, and engineering data and reports. \nCalibrate equipment.\nSupport the site operations in the areas such as security, landscaping and logistics. \nPerforms a variety of administrative and technical operator functions.\nCreates documents using Microsoft Office products.\nReports directly to the Shift lead.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n

Education\/Experience Requirements\n\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nMinimum of six months of previous aerostat experience\nMinimum of one year experience in a technical or mechanical field or served in any branch of the US Armed Forces\nMilitary experience is preferred.\nMicrosoft software experience required.\nAerostat experience is strongly preferred.\nMust be a US resident and possess a valid US Driver's License\nSuccessfully completion of Background Investigation with a Favorable Suitability Determination, and issuance of DHS Suitability determination.\nMust have excellent verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to obtain and maintain an Aerostat certification and adjust to working in a 24hr work environment.\nAbility to work independently and with a team.\nAbility to adapt to changing technology.\nWe maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.\n\n
