Affixing Lead

This position provides oversight and leadership to the Finishing processes to ensure the timely production of quality products that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Serves as the lead in the production output of the Finishing Department operations. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.  Fosters a team atmosphere, provides vision, and demonstrates support of the company’s core processes and values.  Achieving production goals, guiding performance, making sound operational decisions, solving problems, and managing conflict. 

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reads work orders to determine setup specifications and instructions. Ensures crews have all necessary materials to do their jobs. Gather data for and assists in the completion of production reports.  Review production reporting by crews and ensure data is accurately recorded.  Provides support to operators by assisting with machine start up and job runs. Starts machines and makes trial runs to verify accuracy of machine setups. Minimize downtime, investigate root-cause of issues, and develop preventative measure for future occurrences. Provides technical support to team members to resolve operations issues. Troubleshoots and resolves any run problems that may occur.Communicates production related information to other Leads, team members, and Supervisors.  Monitors quality outputs, adjusting as necessary. Observes, and monitors machine operations. Actively engages/participates in company LEAN manufacturing training and audits. Leads and participates in improvement projects for both safety and productivity. Acts as process expert Filling in as needed – callouts, break relief. Sustains cleanliness and organization in all machine areas.  Acts as a lock out tag out authorized employee and complies with lock out tag out procedures. Ensures team members follow safety policies and procedures. Ensures team members follow quality and processes and procedures. Performs other job duties as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2 years prior experience working with affixing machines. Strong organizational and leadership skillsAbility to learn quickly and adapt to change.Able to effectively train and communicate instructions to others.Computer proficient as it is related to the controls for affixing and wrapping systems. Ability to read and write instructions and correspondence in English.Willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
