Bowhead seeks an Agile Project Manager to join our team in supporting our Marine Corps customers in Stafford, Va.

 

The Agile Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects using Agile methodologies and works closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and with high quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage IT projects of varying size, complexity, and duration, following established project management methodologies
• Develop detailed project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and resource requirement
• Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure alignment of project goals and expectations
• Monitor and track project progress against established milestones, budgets, and timelines, and proactively address any deviations or risks
• Provide leadership and direction to project team members, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, and resolving issues and conflicts
• Conduct regular project status meetings, prepare and present project reports to stakeholders, and provide timely updates on project health and performance
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, and implement appropriate mitigation measures
• Ensure compliance with IT governance, security, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle
• Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement in project management practices
• Mentor and coach junior project managers, as needed, to foster professional growth and development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the IT field, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience including Agile methodologies
• Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices
• Familiarity with IT infrastructure, systems development, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams, stakeholders, and vendors
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects concurrently
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Proficient in project management tools and software
• PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant certifications preferred

Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
