Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action. The Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA) Division of Plant Health and Compliance is seeking to fill the position of Agriculturist 4 in the Sparks office. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for overseeing the following programs: Nevada Produce Safety Education and Enforcement, Hemp, Export, Nursery, Specialty Crop Block Grant, Good Agriculture Practices, and Producer Certificate. The position will oversee, prepare, and report on federal grant activities. The position will manage grant and state budgets to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements. The incumbent will serve as a lead produce safety alliance trainer in providing produce safety education to growers. The position will review, interpret, and revise state regulations to align with industry and enforcement needs. Special Notes Restricted use Pesticide Applicator's Certificate is required as an ongoing condition of employment for some positions in the series.
