About the Role
An AgTech Operator is passionate about farming and interested in making a ground level difference by bringing innovation and technology to the next generation of farming. An operator at heart who is action and solution-oriented; adept enough to manage real-time trouble-shooting and thoughtful enough to ask the questions/get the feedback needed. Able to understand how farming and technology interact and support field trials defining, refining future farming practices and responsible for the safe and efficient operation of advanced equipment associated implements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Solid understanding of vineyard operations and associated agricultural equipment and practices Participation in the integration of viticulture best practice and new technology (e.g., alternative fuels, remote operated, semi-autonomous, new software, etc) to advance current farming practices. Participation in the development and implementation site work program with a focus on ensuring operational quality, employee safety and ensuring key HSE objectives are attained Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of tractors, RTVs and associated implements in the performance of tasks set out for them by Managers and Foremen of Treasury Wine Estates (TWE). Performs daily pre-start inspections and routine maintenance, including, but not limited to: fuel, fluids levels, lubrication, tire pressure, lug nuts, safety guards, seat belts, three point linkage, draw bar, lights and gauges. Maintain documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily/job basis Identifies and provide clear communication on machine statuses when there may be mechanical problems associated with equipment or environment, communicating problems to Managers, Foremen and Mechanics. Operates tractors properly with attached or towed equipment, safely and accurately in open fields and confined vineyards with varied terrain, avoiding damage to equip, property, fellow workers and public. Responsible for complete and accurate record keeping of all service and maintenance performed. Handles agricultural materials, such as pesticides and other agricultural chemicals, using tractor equipment in a safe manner. Performs end of day clean up and maintenance Provides timely and comprehensive feedback to team and manager to better enhance performance and efficiency of critical path equipment. Familiarizes themselves with the safety standards and requirements applicable to their role. Participates in plant maintenance and safety procedures: Change Management, SOP’s, Risk Assessments and Training. Properly uses all of the required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for specific tasks (i.e. hard hats, gloves, reflective vests, safety boots, chemical aprons, safety glasses, etc.) Pesticide mixing, loading and application with completed training. Fertilizer mixing, loading and application with completed training. Fork-lift operation with completed training. Available for flexible and seasonal work hours determined to be necessary by Managers; Seasonal variations may include overtime and rotating shift work, including weekends and nights. Demonstrates a positive attitude and thoughtful execution of assigned tasks.

You can work independently and make sound decisions. You can work variable seasonal shifts and overtime as required. You can travel occasionally to regional locations; clear driving record/license.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay range offered for this position is $24 to $26 per hour. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work out of St. Helena, CA. If the incumbent works out of another location, the wage rate may fall above or below this range. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
