Job Summary

The Air Traffic Manager leads and oversees the efficient operation of air traffic control services, ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and Air Force Manual (AFMAN) directives. This position is responsible for supervising air traffic control personnel, maintaining high safety standards, and ensuring the effective management of air traffic operations within assigned airspace. The Air Traffic Manager develops and enforces policies, oversees training programs, and ensures all operations meet quality control standards. This role requires extensive technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with proven experience managing complex air traffic control systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

Supervise and manage air traffic control operations to ensure safe, efficient, and effective service delivery.Oversee compliance with FAA regulations, AFMAN 13-204 Volume 1 & 3, and applicable policies.Develop, implement, and enforce air traffic control procedures to optimize air traffic flow and minimize delays.Provide leadership and guidance to air traffic control personnel, including performance evaluations and professional development.Coordinate with external agencies, including the FAA and military units, to manage shared airspace and operational priorities.Ensure all controllers and technicians maintain necessary certifications and training to perform their duties.Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure quality control and operational compliance.Manage Controlled Movement Area (CMA) driver certifications for all relevant personnel.Analyze operational data and incidents to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.Serve as the primary point of contact for air traffic-related inquiries and decision-making in emergency situations.

Basic Qualifications

FAA-certified Air Traffic Controller with at least 8 years of experience in supervisory or management-level air traffic control duties.Expertise in AFMAN 13-204 Volume 1 & 3 with demonstrated ability to apply these regulations in daily operations.Controlled Movement Area (CMA) driver's certificate required.Comprehensive understanding of FAA regulations and military air traffic control operations.Proven leadership experience managing air traffic control personnel and operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, Air Traffic Control, or a related field.Experience coordinating with both civilian and military air traffic control systems.Advanced certifications or training in air traffic management, safety auditing, or operational efficiency.
