Job Summary
The GIS/GeoBase Manager will oversee the strategic management and operational activities of geographic information systems (GIS) and geospatial data within the organization. This role involves managing GIS infrastructure, ensuring accurate and efficient geospatial data collection, storage, and analysis, and providing leadership to the GIS team. The manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality, security, and accessibility of geospatial data while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support various projects. Additionally, the GIS/GeoBase Manager will manage system integration and the development of customized GIS solutions for internal and external stakeholders. This position requires a hands-on leader who is both technically proficient in GIS technology and skilled in project management and team coordination.

Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the daily operations of GIS/GeoBase systems, ensuring that they meet the needs of the organization.Develop, implement, and maintain GIS infrastructure to support data management, analysis, and mapping functions.Supervise and mentor a team of GIS professionals, ensuring efficient workflow, training, and professional development.Coordinate GIS data collection, processing, and storage activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of geospatial data.Provide expertise in GIS analysis and mapping to support decision-making and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.Lead the integration of GIS tools with other enterprise systems and software applications.Establish and enforce best practices and standards for GIS data management and system security.Manage GIS-related project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful and timely delivery of deliverables.Troubleshoot and resolve GIS-related system issues, providing technical support to staff as needed.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and industry standards for GIS data management and privacy.Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Geospatial Science, Computer Science, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience working with GIS technology, including experience in managing GIS databases and applications.Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms, and knowledge of spatial data formats (e.g., shapefiles, GeoJSON).Demonstrated experience with geospatial data analysis, map design, and visualization.Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with excellent project management and organizational skills.Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field.Experience with cloud-based GIS systems and geospatial data storage solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).Knowledge of advanced GIS techniques such as spatial modeling, remote sensing, and 3D mapping.Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or JavaScript for GIS automation or application development.Experience in government services or with public-sector GIS applications and regulations.KBR Benefits
