Job Summary
The Lodging Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of temporary or permanent living quarters for Department of Defense (DoD) personnel and contractors. This role ensures the facility is properly maintained, meets safety and cleanliness standards, and provides a high level of customer service. The manager will supervise a team, maintain inventory, and ensure that the department's budget is adhered to. Regular inspections, vacancy rate reviews, and safety briefings will be part of the routine responsibilities. A strong background in hospitality management and personnel oversight is required to ensure operational efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise and manage DoD lodging or equivalent commercial lodging operations, ensuring a high standard of service and compliance with DoD regulations.
Ensure proper maintenance, safety, and cleanliness of all living quarters and associated facilities.
Review vacancy/occupancy rates regularly with clients and management to optimize room availability and usage.
Conduct periodic inspection reviews of lodging facilities to maintain high standards and rectify any discrepancies.
Monitor and maintain inventory for living quarters and cleaning supplies to ensure continuous operations.
Oversee key control and maintain files related to access and security of living areas.
Interact with peer groups and client representatives to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues.
Ensure the customer service desk is fully staffed with Technicians and Coordinators who provide friendly, professional service to clients.
Provide training on safety standards and ensure that employees are knowledgeable and compliant with all safety requirements.
Manage the department's budget and ensure that resources are used effectively and efficiently.
Conduct daily safety briefings and regular department meetings to promote safety awareness and employee morale.
May be responsible for performance reviews, hiring, firing, and other HR-related duties within the department.
Basic Qualifications
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in supervising and managing DoD lodging or eight (8) years of comparable commercial lodging experience.
Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Proven supervisory experience, including the ability to handle hiring, firing, discipline, and performance reviews.
Knowledge of and ability to train employees on safety standards related to lodging operations.
Strong budgetary management skills and ability to oversee financial aspects of lodging operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working with DoD regulations and standards in a lodging environment.
Certification in hospitality management or related fields.
Experience in handling inventory management and key control systems for large facilities.
