**JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE**
The role of the AI Business Manager functions as the single point of contact for an identified business function at all levels to support identifying opportunities to integrate AI into business processes and create material business value through the deployment of AI solutions. The AI Business Manager will serve business leaders as both an advisor and an implementation partner. As an advisor, the AI business manager will help leaders fully understand AI and how AI might radically improve the efficiency of work processes. Together, the AI business manager and business leaders will produce an AI business plan that includes a pipeline of AI projects they can execute together. As an implementation partner, the AI business manager will assist business leaders monitor work performed by the AI organization, ensuring projects deliver the expected business value. As an advisor and implementation partner, the AI business manager must operate as a member of business leaders’ management teams, maintain a deep understanding of business problems, and provide ongoing counsel to the business leaders’ AI efforts.
Maintaining outstanding business relationships with leaders at all levels from each of the business functions will be key to carrying out this role, which must build and maintain positive working relationships with the business function to stay in lock step with that function’s team priorities. On a periodic basis, the AI Business Manager will work with business function leadership to identify and prioritize AI opportunities and develop and maintain an AI Business Integration roadmap. The AI Business Integration roadmap captures prioritized AI opportunities to pursue over time. The roadmap will continually evolve based on changing business priorities. The AI Business Manager will lead all AI planning and prioritization related to identifying AI opportunities across the business functions, establish product budgets, and help organize product teams. This role will work closely with three peer AI functions: engineering, delivery, and platform. Because AI products and services are delivered through all these functions, the AI Business manager will have to work seamlessly with these peer leaders to ensure customer expectations are constantly met or exceeded. As the primary voice of internal customers, the AI Business manager must constantly gauge customer satisfaction and advocate for changes to improve the delivery of AI products and services.
AI products are a combination of software, data, and other digital tools that automate work processes. AI products may leverage a combination of analytics tools to automate decision making such as descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics models. AI products may also leverage a combination of automation tools such as robotic process automation. AI products may also include generative AI tools, providing a conversational interface to AI products. The AI Business Manager should not be an expert in these various AI products as the primary focus of the role is to understand the business function’s business processes, problems, goals, aspirations, and key risks. However, the AI Business Manager should be able to understand the range of AI products that the organization can deliver to be able to advise the business function as to which of the various AI products are possible to develop, that when operational, can help the business function solve problems and ultimately help it meet its business objectives.
**JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**
1. Act as a champion for AI, helping to educate company leadership about how to leverage AI tools to solve problems. Advocate for the development of AI skills across the company.
2. Develop and maintain a business AI roadmap, used by the AI department to plan work and used with business leadership to set delivery expectations over time.
3. Coordinate potential opportunities with business function leaders to include Digital Transformation including AI solutions in strategic plan and annual operation plan development.
4. Leverage improvement methodologies, tools, and technologies, to meet process improvement objectives, add value and achieve set goals/targets.
5. Will provide dotted line leadership and oversight of shared resources from the communities of practice within the AI function and team resources from the business assigned to support AI projects.
6. Develop, measure and communicate results of AI roadmap metrics to senior leadership.
7. Support business unit leadership in developing AI roadmaps.
8. Match AI product services to business function needs and engage with the implementation of AI solutions.
9. Develop and maintain outstanding working relationships with leaders from business functions (nuclear, customer, operations, and corporate, etc).
10. Lead the planning and prioritization of all AI work across business functions to develop a robust pipeline.
11. Develop standard, repeatable, and measurable planning and prioritization processes that considers the collective benefits of AI work that balances the needs of individual business functions with the overarching goals of the corporation.
12. Work directly with the VP of AI as an advisor, continuously seeking ways to improve and evolve the AI function.
13. Develop and maintain a business AI roadmap, used by the AI department to plan work and used with business leadership to set delivery expectations over time.
14. Support continuous improvement of the AI organization by advocating for and leading process changes.
15. Communicate the existence, mission, and objectives of the AI organization to senior leadership, ensuring the leaders understand the scope of the organization and how it can be successfully leveraged.
16. Establish and facilitate Steering Committees / Governance Meetings with senior business leaders from each business domain focused on AI product roadmaps, maturity curves, prioritization, adoption rates and inflight work.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
**Minimum education required of the position**
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business-related field required OR in lieu of degree minimum 12+ years of professional experience is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
**Minimum experience required of the position**
+ Minimum 8+ years of professional experience leading diverse project or product teams to accomplish specific, measurable outcomes. Utility experience preferred.
+ Knowledge and experience with project management and/or process improvement tools and methods is a plus (e.g. Lean, Six-Sigma, Agile, Process Mapping, Intelligent Automation, Analytics)
+ Demonstrated experience consulting with senior & executive leaders, including identifying needs, developing comprehensive plans, identifying deliverables and presenting results/recommendations to enable outcomes
+ Experience planning, prioritizing, and creating multi-year roadmaps.
**Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position**
+ Good understanding of how the utility business operates.
+ Existing positive working relationships with existing business leadership.
+ Understand the basics of analytics and how it might be used to solve problems.
+ Excellent meeting facilitation skills.
+ Self-motivated, team player, action and results oriented.
+ Well-organized with good written and verbal communication, reporting and presentation skills
+ Analytical skill set with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
+ Proven experience with analyzing data for insights to drive better business decisions
