Position Availability: Position Title: AI Ethics Research Assistant Requisition Number: 0406073526 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: PSD/Academic Affairs Responsibilities: I am looking for a motivated graduate student to assist in working with me on the ongoing development of a new tool (creativeaimagnifier.com) designed to explore the evolving relationship between emerging creative AI tools and ethics. The tool investigates critical questions about how creative AI tools align with our values and ethos.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between SENS-UAW, Local 7902 and the University.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis: Research into the intersection of AI and creativity. This includes examining how AI tools are being used by creative professionals and analyzing trends related to creativity, productivity, and intellectual property. Much of this data will come from the tool itself. Data Parsing and Interpretation: Collect, parse, and analyze data related to AI usage patterns in creative fields, as collected by the new tool. Extract insights that will help refine the tool’s ability to offer valuable, data-driven insights to its users. Writing and Documentation: Contribute written content to the tool’s website, and summarize findings on AI’s impact on creativity and ethics. Assist in writing clear, accessible content for associated outreach materials. Stakeholder Mapping: Identify and connect with key players in the AI and creative industries, including artists, designers, ethicists, and thought leaders. Help build a network of collaborators and contributors to enrich the tool’s offerings. Tool Refinement and Development: Collaborate with the project team to refine the features of the Creative AI Magnifier tool. Your insights will help ensure that the tool accurately reflects user perspectives on AI ethics in creativity. Communication / Graphic Design (Optional): Apply design skills to create visuals and infographics that enhance the tool’s interface, making it engaging and user-friendly. This may include designing user experience (UX) elements or visualizations to represent research findings.


Pay
$30.16/hour

Work Mode
Hybrid/Split – Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of
time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely. Minimum Qualifications: Interest or experience in the intersection of AI and creativity Experience in research, data analysis, or writing. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently. Preferred Qualifications: Background in AI ethics, creative industries, or a related field.
