Job Summary

The Standard is seeking an AI Model Validation Lead to join our forward-thinking Artificial Intelligence team to drive the development and validation of advanced, cutting-edge AI models.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in establishing and overseeing the validation and governance of AI models to ensure they meet high standards of accuracy, fairness, and regulatory compliance, while also applying ethical guidelines and industry standards. This includes defining performance benchmarks, building monitoring dashboards, facilitating stealth reviews, and continuously monitoring model performance.

In collaboration with the Data Science, Product Management, and Engineering teams you will gain alignment on validation strategies, mitigate risk, and resolve performance issues. Regular communication and presentations with senior management & stakeholders will be essential for conveying validation results and insights, as well as promoting best practices and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Skills and Background You’ll Need

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.Required Experience: 5 years of proven experience in AI model validation, governance, or a similar role is required. Established understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods. Confirmed experience with regulatory requirements and ethical considerations in AI. Expertise in building and deploying model monitoring frameworks. Demonstrated experience with dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, or custom-built dashboards). Experience with compliance frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, or similar regulations is a plus. Familiarity with AI frameworks like NIST, the NYDFS, or the Colorado bulletin.Preferred experience: Experience with AI governance frameworks and tools. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R. Familiarity with machine learning platforms and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). Experience working in regulated industries like insurance, finance, or healthcare.Strong analytical skills to evaluate model performance and identify potential issues.Strong communication and collaboration skills: Effective communication skills to convey validation results and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively with data scientists, engineers, and compliance teams.Critical Thinking and Attention to Detail: Ability to critically assess AI models and their performance. High attention to detail to ensure thorough validation and compliance.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

 

Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:

$128,500.00 - $218,250.00
