This position will modify, repair, inspect, deploy, verify, maintain, and calibrate a variety of electronic, pneumatic, analytical, mechanical, meteorological, communications, and optical air quality monitoring equipment and data acquisition systems; take samples and process data from the air quality monitoring network at various monitoring sites throughout Clark County; document all activities; prepare report and records; and participate in projects and SOP development to ensure quality system operations that are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Perform data review, verification, validation, and analysis. Promote a positive image of Air Quality to customer base and the public. Air Quality Monitoring Technician I: $28.11 - $43.55 Hourly Air Quality Monitoring Technician II: $30.32 - $47.03 Hourly The Air Quality Monitoring Technician I is a training underfill position, upon successful completion of the training program the successful candidate will be non-competitively promoted to Air Quality Monitoring Technician II. This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months at either level or may be extended as needed by Human Resources. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience: Air Quality Monitoring Tech I - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering, chemistry, physics, mathematics, electronics, meteorology, computer science, quality management, metrology or a related field. Job-related experience may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis. Air Quality Monitoring Tech II - In addition to the above: Minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience comparable to that of an Air Quality Monitoring Technician I and completion of the Monitoring Technician training program. Experience in quality control and quality assurance programs is desirable. All qualifying education and each experience must be clearly documented in the “Education” and “Work Experience” sections of the application.
