Air Quality Supervisor

The Air Quality Supervisor performs and/or oversees the specialized intensive cleaning and decontamination of mechanical/electrical equipment, ducts and air distribution devices to improve and maintain air quality in campus buildings. As a member of the Air Quality Decontamination Team, the individual will be part of a front line of defense against potential spread of infectious diseases. The Air Quality Decontamination Team member will be ready to respond to a potential exposure incident 24 hours per day seven days a week. The team member will be trained in specialized Personal Protective Equipment to include N95 mask and will go through fitting for appropriate mask. The team member will be trained and will utilize specialized disinfecting equipment. Members of the Air Quality Decontamination Team must take Respiratory Protection Training and Respiratory Protection Medical Service through VT EHSS annually. The position is responsible for: Developing priorities with shop supervisors to ensure coordination with building contacts, proper planning, schedule preventive maintenance, and corrective action work assignments. Reviewing, monitoring, and supervising work assignments of shop supervisors in accordance with the work order systems standard operating procedures. Recognizing and resolving issues to maintain the productivity of work for assigned resources. Ensuring the execution of work order assignments in coordination with other Facilities Department units and with designated university contacts in order that all projects are completed in a safe, timely, and cost-effective basis. Performing routine inspections of assignments completed ensuring safety, quality, and cost.
