AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN (TITLE 32)
Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD1549P01 and is part of the TN 164th AW Air National Guard. This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 115 (Pyramid on the River Chapter). Responsibilities As an AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN, WG-2892-11, you will perform functional tests, analyzes performance and troubleshoots the electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical functions of the subsystems integrated into the digital brake/antiskid system, maintenance annunciation panel (MAP) system of the integrated main generator, standby generator, emergency generator, flight control power, AC/DC power distribution and sub-systems integrated into the electronic/electrical and environmental systems. Remove, repair, calibrate, install, align, inspect, and conduct operational performance checkouts on the components of the electronic/electrical and environmental systems. Provide technical guidance, advice and/or assistance to other work centers on the interrelationship of electronic/electrical and environmental systems and their respective system, to include flight controls, offensive fire control radar, weapon release, communications, hydraulic, fuel, engine and egress. Process and account for supply assets in the repairable processing system to maintain aircraft records, inspection records, and equipment maintenance in computer systems (CAMS). Inspect, test and perform operative maintenance on cryogenic and gaseous oxygen and nitrogen servicing equipment. Provide on-the-job training to lower grade personnel concerning repair of the electronic/electrical and environmental equipment, aircraft system line replaceable units (LRUs), and aircraft electrical/environmental systems. Also provide on-the-job training (OJT) for newly assigned personnel. Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations such as Operational Readiness inspections (ORI), Inspector General (IG) inspections, Unit Effectiveness Inspections and mobility and command support exercises. Comply with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. May be required to perform additional duties such as aircraft crew chief, hydrazine response, aircraft or equipment decontamination, structural firefighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operator, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or serve as a member of a team to assist local authorities with natural disasters or civil emergencies. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-2 through E-6 AFSC: 2AXXX GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which has provided a knowledge and skill in locating and tying in the electrical systems with the aircraft armament, electronics, and instrument systems; adjusting and calibrating the components of the various electrical systems; reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training installing, maintaining, repairing and modifying electrical systems and major substation components of electrical system. Experience diagnosing malfunctions and determining remedy when complex relationships exist among different electrical system circuits requiring knowledge of all electrical units and systems. Experience making electrical repairs that require the use of precision measuring equipment and common hand tools. Experience in the setup and operation of computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment in manual, semiautomatic, or automatic mode to run existing and new (not fully debugged) diagnostic programs to test and analyze aircraft electrical circuitry and interconnecting cabling of systems such as navigational computers, radar, and related equipment and to repair discrepancies.
