Tank Tigers, an STS Aviation Group Company, is seeking highly skilled Aircraft Fuel Cell Technicians (Class A) to join our team in Jamaica, New York. This technical role requires a minimum of 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of tasks across multiple airframes with limited guidance. As a Technician Class A, you will be responsible for performing fuel tank maintenance, including preventive maintenance and alteration tasks in accordance with the applicable maintenance data.
Key Responsibilities: Fuel Tank Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance and alteration tasks on aircraft fuel tanks according to maintenance manuals and data. Task Management: Carry out assigned tasks, ensuring maintenance operations are performed in the correct sequence and inspections are requested in a timely manner. Tool and Equipment Management: Ensure all test equipment and tools used to make airworthiness determinations are calibrated, labeled, and current. Documentation: Accurately record all work performed in the appropriate maintenance records and complete any additional paperwork as required. Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean and orderly work area, and immediately report any unsafe procedures, practices, or conditions to supervision. Regulatory Compliance: Remain familiar with FAR part 145 and 43, and stay updated on the company’s Repair Station Manual and Quality Control Manual. Time Management: Record time spent on tasks and communicate effectively with supervision to ensure efficient workflow. Confined Space Work: Be comfortable working in small, confined spaces as the job demands. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in aircraft fuel system maintenance. Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge, experience, and/or training in performing assigned maintenance tasks. Regulatory Familiarity: Understanding of FAR part 145 and 43, as well as company repair and quality control manuals. Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately follow maintenance manuals and data, ensuring all tasks are performed to the highest standards. Safety Conscious: Strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following all safety regulations. Preferred Skills: FAA A&P License: Possessing an FAA A&P license is preferred and the ability to teach is a plus. Compensation: Pay Rate: Regular hourly straight-time rate ranges from $27.00 to $29.00, based on qualifications, training, and licensure status.
