Aircraft Inspector Egress
**Aircraft Inspector.** This position is unique in that it is multi- tiered in skill requirements: {i.e.} the incumbent must be experienced in the AME {egress systems} field and aircraft maintenance, illustrations are as follows: As a function of Quality Control, the incumbent is required to monitor, observe, inspect the aircraft egress, canopy fracturing systems and components and evaluate the maintenance function and safety procedures in the maintenance organization. The inspector will observe maintenance procedures to ensure maintenance tasks are complied with properly. Quality Control/Quality Assurance Inspectors will be under the direct supervision of the Quality Manager. Monitor and evaluate all maintenance actions performed by all aircraft work centers. Ensure safe and effective aircraft are provided in accordance with technical manuals, directives, and instructions. **Accountability** + Perform all work-related actions as directed by management. + Follow instructions from 040 work center lead, and supervisor. + Ensure safety, security and preservation of government and company owned equipment. + Address/approach customer in courteous and professional manner. + Address/approach co-workers in a courteous and professional manner. + Maintain work center in a clean and orderly fashion. + Meet government and company license and/or qualification requirement(s). + Complete and comply with On-the-Job Training (OJT), Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste (HW), Tool Control Program (TCP) and Egress Familiarization, Program and all safety regulations by site, city, state and federal. + Monitor contract compliance by all maintenance activities through audit(s) and surveillance as defined in the Quality Assurance Manual. + Perform final inspection of all maintenance actions as required. To include ejection seats and canopy systems. + Review maintenance form(s) and deficiency data to determine discrepancy trends and specific problem areas. + Assist drafting and developing work instructions, maintenance instructions, local maintenance requirement cards (MRC). + Assist drafting continuing correspondence, detailing maintenance and program procedures and instructions. + Provide brief and de-brief functional control flight (FCF) pilot. + Assist preparing Quality Assurance Monthly Data Requirements List (CDRLs). + Assist preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly Quality Assurance Control Status Report(s). + Operate NALCOMIS/OOMA data base information system. + Review incoming technical publications and directives as applicable to the Maintenance Department. + Qualify and maintain as a subject matter expert (SME) or training instructor as required (within first 90 days). + Serve as a model mechanic/technician. + Investigate safety incident(s) and assists preparing engineering investigation request (EIR), Quality Deficiency Reports, Hazardous Material Reports (HMR), Technical Publications Deficiency Report (TPDR) and Explosive Mishap Reporting (EMR) as required. **Education and Experience** + High School Diploma or GED + Graduate of AME “A” School from the Navy/Marine Corps or other branch equivalent. Civilian factory training outside of the military will not be considered. + Eight (8) or more years + General experience in aircraft maintenance + Working knowledge of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (4790), NAVAIR 11-100-1.1, quality assurance procedures, and applicable safety and maintenance manuals. + Martin-Baker MK16 ejection seat experience preferred. + High proficient in the use of NALCOMIS OOMA + Completion of NALCOMIS OOMA Quality Assurance Administration course (C-555-0046). + Completion of Aircraft Corrosion Control (N-701-0013 or C-600-3183). + Three (3) or more years as a license A&P mechanic + Write with clarity and technical accuracy. + Ability to independently research, read, and interpret technical drawings and diagrams. + Ability to brief and debrief Functional Check Flights (FCFs) with aircrew. **Physical Requirements and Work Environment** + Walk, stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods. + Climb, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, crouch, kneel, lift, carry, balance, and reach above shoulder level, push, or pull weight up to seventy (70) pounds. + Eye hand coordination and dexterity, required. + Color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception, required. + Normal hearing, required. + Exposure noise hazard. + Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE). + Handle required/approved hazardous material(s) as per the material safety data (MSD). + May require the use of respirator. + Must be able to work any assigned shift or schedule. + Must be able to obtain/maintain any company/government required qualification, certification, licensing, or security clearance. + Must have valid drivers’ license. + Working conditions of a standard shop and hangar to inclement weather and extreme heat. **Travel** + As required for periods up to, or past 90 days.
