**Purpose and Scope:** The Follow Me Vehicle Operator’s primary responsibility is to provide “Follow-Me” services to any aircraft when requested by the control tower or Airfield Management. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF). **Essential Responsibilities:** + Lead the aircraft with a "follow-me" vehicle to or from the runway and parking before takeoff or after landing. This may include leading an aircraft with a "follow-me" vehicle from one parking spot to a new parking spot. + Provide ground operations support to include crash rescue crew, aircraft tug, FOD/sweeper, aircraft loading/support, and other contract flightline support vehicles IAW AFI and local Airfield instructions. + Monitor all activity that would pose a hazard to aircraft or personnel working on or with aircraft then remove the hazard or prevent the hazard from impacting airfield operations. + Monitor aircraft moving on the ground, direct aircraft taxiing, and monitor the safety of aircraft when engines are operational. + Notify security enforcement personnel of any unauthorized aircraft start, movement, or suspicious and unusual act during airfield operations. + Inspect vehicles for defects before and after trips + Monitor vehicle during trips and submit reports indicating truck condition. + Ensure Amentum Safety, Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) and Environmental procedures are complied with. + Maintains driver log according to I.C.C. regulations. **Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:** + High school diploma or equivalent training/experience. + Ability to read and write English is required. + Must be able to receive instructions/directions and provide progress reports via radio or cellular phone. + Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills. + Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team. + Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment. + Possess a valid issued driver’s license, passport from their country and could obtain a work visa. + Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment. + Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN). + Prefer candidate who has experience working on a US Government contract. **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** + The Follow Me Vehicle Driver shall be located at Ascension Island. + This position will be exposed to products of fire to include heat, smoke, toxic fumes, and gasses. + Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. + Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. + Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions. + Ability to travel domestically and internationally. **OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES** **Safety** - Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
