Axient is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic to support our customer in Ft. Moore, Georgia.
What you will do... Aircraft maintenance personnel will perform maintenance actions and provide proof of a current (valid) FAA A&P license. Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft Engines and auxiliary power unit. This role is full time in Ft Benning GA on our UH60 Program supporting US Army Ranger School.Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems.Safely prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections.Performs limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.Mechanic applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft Technical Manuals, Maintenance Information and Action Messages and all technical guidance provided through government official representatives.Mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.Uses a working knowledge of technical publications and the Government STAMIS to make entries in aircraft logs and records.Reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.Performs 40 / 120 hour inspections, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections, examines reciprocating engines for cracked cylinders and oil leaks, and listens to operating engine to detect and diagnose malfunctions, such as sticking or burnt valves, inspects jet engines and components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments.Inspects jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks, tests engine operation, using testing equipment, such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, and jet calibration (Jetcal) tester, to locate source of malfunction.When designated shall obtain DoD EPA Refrigerant Processing Certificate Section 608 Technician Certification (Universal) or Minimum Type II.When qualified and when required can perform non-crew member duties.When qualified and as assigned for crane operator duties shall have three years of crane operation related experience and shall comply with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) 1926 Safety and Health Regulations for Construction, Subpart: CC Cranes & Derricks in Construction 1926.1427 Operator qualification and Certification.When required can use Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) for job duties.Perform other qualified duties as assigned Skills you will need... Aircraft maintenance personnel will have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience with documented training (by validation of qualifying factors to include documented prior military experience and training) on the Model, Designation, Series (MDS) H60 series, they will be performing maintenance actions on or have a current (valid) FAA A&P license and at least one (1) years of documented experience in general aviation.Specialty mechanics will possess a minimum of two (2) years’ experience with documented training on the MDS H60 series systems. Candidate shall hold a current (valid) FAA A&P License to include a minimum of three (3) years maintenance experience, of which one (1) year shall be commensurate with position assigned with documented training Valid drivers license requiredHigh School Graduate or GEDPreferred Experience:
Knowledge of equipment related to individual requirements UH-60Knowledge of military publications (including electronic manuals), drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams and schematics is mandatory.Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications is a plus.Aircraft areas/hangars, workshops, and other industrial settings
Physical Requirements (ability to lift X amount of weight, sit or stand for long periods of time etc),:
