Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Aircraft Mechanic to join our team working on an aircraft conversion program and heavy maintenance projects. The primary focus will be on Q400 conversion to aerial firefighting. This is a long-term, full-time contractor position requiring willingness to work in different divisions and facilities as needed. Responsibilities include basic mechanical work, engine checks, wheel changes, structural inspections, and overall repairs.

ResponsibilitiesPerform heavy maintenance checks on aircraft.Conduct engine checks, wheel changes, structural inspections, and overall repairs.Work on Q400 aircraft conversion to aerial firefighting.Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical issues.Collaborate with team members and lead hands to ensure aircraft functionality.Essential SkillsAME M2 licensed.2+ years of Canadian aircraft maintenance experience.2+ years of heavy maintenance experience.Current Human Factors & WHMIS Certification (from 2021 onwards).Experience with Q400 aircraft.Must possess own tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsDash 8 Q400 Endorsement.Experience in northern regions (Yukon, NW Territories).B737 experience.Line maintenance experience.Interiors experience.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The team includes 1 lead hand, 4 mechanics, 4-5 contractors, 7-8 avionics technicians, and 25 structures technicians working together. Shifts are typically Monday to Friday, 10-hour days from 6AM to 4:15PM, with occasional 8-hour shifts from 7AM to 3:30PM. Overtime may be required on Saturdays occasionally. Basic tooling must be provided by the employee. The work environment involves close collaboration with team leads and rotating TLs to ensure aircraft are functioning properly. A travel package is provided, including per diem, monthly LOA, and paid travel expenses.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00
