Aircraft Mechanic II - Structural

Job Title:  Aircraft Structures Mechanic II 
Job Type: Full time; Consultant (9+ Months)
Location: San Antonio, TX 78226 (Local and Non-Local candidates accepted)
Pay Rate: $35.00-40.00 per hour

Schedule:  

Monday to Friday; All submitted candidates should be available to work variable shifts based on business need, 1st and 2nd.

Required Qualifications: 

Minimum 4 years of on-aircraft heavy structures experience.

Knowledgeable in shop mathematics and practices

Experience in working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.

Proficient in computer skills including but not limited to: aircraft related systems and basic office software.

Preferred (Not required) Qualifications:

Experience with Very Important Person (VIP) aircraft or specialty aircraft interiors installations within the last ten (10) years.

FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant license

Skills Showcase:

Close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures including doublers, triplers, seat tracks, planks, stringers, etc.

Thorough knowledge of aircraft repair procedures and part replacement.

Familiarity with aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.

Proficiency in using unique aircraft tools.

Locating blind holes for new structural components.

Sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structures.

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical orders.

Operating specialized equipment.

This mechanic will maintain, repair and modify aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to:

flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufacturers manuals.

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
