Aircraft Mechanic II (Structures)
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** Inspects, evaluates damage and accomplishes repairs on assigned and transient aircraft and support Equipment. Operates all associated ground support equipment and uses hand tools, special tools, fixtures and adhesives applicable to return aircraft to operational condition. Evaluates, designs, and manufactures logistics improvement projects. Researches technical data and manufactures structural components, cables, and tubing assemblies. Uses maintenance instructions and technical data in the inspection, and repair of assigned aircraft and associated equipment. Performs on and off equipment maintenance to do advanced aircraft composite repairs. Uses maintenance drawings and blueprints to accomplish repairs on assigned equipment. Performs aircraft and equipment corrosion inspections. Evaluates aircraft and equipment for paint requirements. Removes and treats corrosion and applies protective coatings on aircraft and support equipment. Performs shop and flight line maintenance ensuring aircraft structural integrity. Coordinates maintenance efforts with Production Supervisors and Maintenance Operations Coordination Center. Documents discrepancies in applicable forms and inputs data in Maintenance Information System. Ensures compliance with applicable safety, housekeeping, tool control, and FOD prevention programs. Must be able to work day, swing, night, and/or weekend shifts as required. Receives CUT training within classification. Shall perform other duties as assigned and must be able to travel to include TDYs. Must maintain training requirements. **QUALIFICATIONS:** Must have a working knowledge of aircraft structural repair procedures. A working knowledge of corrosion control techniques and base, federal, and company procedures for handling and Disposal of hazardous waste materials is required. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. The ability to read and interpret data is required. Completion of specialized courses in aircraft structural repair is required. Must meet physical requirements, occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. is required. An Occupational Physical is required. Respirator Training, Fuel Systems Confined Space Entry Training and CPR training is required. A minimum of three years recent structural experience is required. An FAA Airframe license is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a United States Secret security clearance and Government flight line driver's license. Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
