GENERAL DESCRIPTION:\n
Aircraft Mechanic III maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Work typically requires a comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting\/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal\/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems. A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required. The incumbent must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural\/mechanical engineers and customers alike must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule. This worker will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and\/or maintenance efforts.\n
DUTIES:\n\nPerform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on C-147A and UV-18C ACFT\nTroubleshooting Aircraft Avionics Systems\nSupport and assist aircrews with flight line and general hangar operations.\nAssisting other Mechanics in daily tasks\n training and corporate requirements\nTravel in support of detachment operations up to 30%\nOther duties assigned\n\n
EDUCATION\/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:\n\nHigh School Diploma or Equivalent\nFAA Aircraft & Powerplant Certificate\nValid State Driver's License \nWorking knowledge of US Army Aircraft forms and records (DA PAM 738-751) and familiar with FAA FAR Part 43.\nHave at least 2 years of Military Fixed Wing Experience (or civilian equivalent) and\/or 5 years of Military Rotary Wing Experience.\nDash 8-100\/200\/300 (Desired)\nDHC-6-300\/400 (Desired)\nStrong Avionics background (Desired)\nFamiliar with Aircraft Notebook ACN system \nMS Excel and MS Word\nCapability to learn and comprehend corporate policies and procedures, along with their alignment with the objectives of Tyonek Native Corporation.\n\n
