Aircraft Mechanic III Lead

Responsibilities What You'll Do: AMIII Shift Production/Quality Leads (SP/QL). SP/QLs must possess maintenance skills to perform and oversee all aspects of all tasks on the C-130J variant assigned to AFSOC both On- and Off-aircraft to include aircraft ground support equipment overhaul and proof load test requirements. The SP/QL shall be able to read, interpret drawings, accomplish repairs, and manufacture parts from engineering drawings or dispositions. The SP/QL oversees the quality assurance program to ensure all requirements of the PWS and contractor quality plan are properly implemented. The SP/QL shall work with the site supervisor, other quality assurance representatives to ensure program conformance, resolve program issues related to quality processes and act as the action agent for program continuous improvement initiatives. The SP/QL shall oversee activities of his or her team members. The SP/QL shall ensure shift carryover of maintenance requirements are conveyed to subsequent SP/QLs and perform follow-ups to ensure satisfactory performance across shift changes to provide 3-shift, 24-hour production during the workweek. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the Inspection / Repair of all AFSOC assigned C-130 variants. Inspect / Repair all systems on assigned C-130 variants. Inspect / Repair both on-aircraft and off-aircraft components assigned to AFSOC. Build / Review Bill of Materials, Workflow Packages and Planners. Provide in house contractor currency and qualification training with-in the team, as required. All aircraft mechanics must have C-130 “hands-on” experience within the last 3 years and capable of performing all tasks IAW written instructions. Structural /Sheetmetal repairs/fabrication Airplane general taskings i.e., tow, jack, crib Assisting other Mechanics in daily tasks Load Test critical lifting devices for (AFSOC) Build Workflow Packages / Planners and Bills of Material Qualifications Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Experience: Area of Experience Years of Experience Comments USAF Skill Level 9 as C-130 Systems Maintenance equivalent or higher. Minimum 3 years of direct experience with maintenance on the C-130H Minimum 2 years of direct experience with maintenance on the C-130J Other Requirements: Public Trust/NACI (Tier 1) U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data system. Must be able to work any shift. Must be able to deploy/work off station. Desired Qualifications: Experience: Experience with or equivalent to USAF Skill Level 9 in C-130 Systems Maintenance Experience in creating, editing workflow packages. Experience in creating, editing aircraft task planners. Experience in building Bills of Material from Engineer direction or drawings. Experience with leading a diversified crew on multiple jobs simultaneously. Skills & Technology Used Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving: Possesses both analytical and interpersonal skills. Good problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills/techniques. Business Partner/Effective Communicator: English language skills to communicate and negotiate with vendors. Strong communicator must be able to communicate clearly both in writing and orally. Ability to train, lead projects, direct employees. Customer service oriented, detail focused, pro-active behavior, multi-task capability. Software: Microsoft Office Suite Excel Outlook SharePoint Personal computer, printer, copy machine and other general office equipment.
