The primary purpose of this position is to repair, test, and troubleshoot aircraft propeller assemblies, hub and blade, valve housing, and pump housing assemblies (internal oil control), and Swashplates; and perform duties associated with the WR-ALC Maintenance Inspector (MI) program. Responsibilities 1. Performs careful visual inspections of parts and marks them for serial number and/or position. Performs local rework of items to ensure serviceability. Performs dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments. 2. Performs duties associated with Maintenance Inspector (MI) requirements on the assembly and test of aircraft propellers and propeller sub-assemblies. 3. Receives, uncrates and disassembles propellers, propeller controls, swashplates, and related sub-assemblies. 4. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. 5. Maintains and uses all tools and shop equipment in the performance of required tasks and duties. 6. Maintains Time and Attendance (TAA) procedures in accordance with the Depot Maintenance Accounting and Production System (DMAPS) guidelines. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-8800 Aircraft Overhaul Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision.
