This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER, Position Description Number D1728000 and is part of the 109TH AW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. THIS IS AN INDEFINITE POSITION WITH POTENTIAL TO CONVERT TO PERMANENT. Responsibilities As a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER, WG-4818-11, you will serve as a Small Shop Chief (SSC) with the responsibility for the overall shop. The position oversees and directs the work of one or more employees who perform work in the Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment Repairer, WG-4818-10 occupation who are assigned to the shop. The incumbent performs the full range of non-supervisory journey level work of the shop. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: Enlisted GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicant's knowledge of materials and equipment used in the line of work (helmets, torso harness assemblies, parachutes, survival equipment). Ability to understand written instructions and to use reference materials and manuals. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must be 18 months experience or training which has demonstrated knowledge of aviation life support equipment. Experience reading and interpreting military manuals. Experience in supply procedures and property accountability. Experience collecting information and presenting it to various sized groups. Experience in planning a functional shop maintenance program is essential.
