Summary This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER - Title 32, Position Description Number D1992000 and is part of the WI AASF 2, Wisconsin Army National Guard. Responsibilities As a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER - Title 32, WG-4818-10, you will provide control, inspection and certification, testing, evaluation and maintenance or overhaul of Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE). Provides initial and continuation instruction in the following ALSE subject categories: environmental life support and protective subsystems, over water survival equipment, escape and descent life support subsystems, survival recovery life support subsystem, global survival, aircrew chemical decontamination procedures and aircrew chemical defense task qualification training. Documents and maintains records of ALSE crewmember training. ***Indefinite positions are not permanent and have no guarantee to continued employment. Indefinite employees may be subject to separation from employment at any time with a 30 day written notification. If the position becomes permanent, employee may be converted to a permanent appointment without further competition at management's discretion.*** Requirements Conditions of Employment MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of materials and equipment used in the line of work (helmets, torso harness assemblies, parachutes, survival equipment). Ability to understand written instructions and to use reference materials and manuals. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the WG-4848-10 level, applicant must have at least 18 months experience or training which has demonstrated knowledge of aviation life support equipment. Experience reading and interpreting military manuals. Experience in supply procedures and property accountability. Experience collecting information and presenting it to various sized groups. Experience in planning a functional shop maintenance program is essential.
