Aircraft Technician
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. Performs or assists in fabrication, modification, assembly, installation, operations, repair and maintenance of moderately complex laboratory, experimental and commercial equipment. Consults on the design of equipment or tests; sets up and conducts moderately complex experiments and tests. Records and summarizes data. **This position is for the second shift.** **DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Perform production testing, troubleshooting of all Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems (avionics, air data, fuel, etc.) during and after final assembly using automated and manual test equipment. These tests will include electrical/ avionics/mechanical systems using UAV diagnostic, PC based and non-PC based tests equipment. + Record, evaluate, and report data. Summarizes test data via written tabulation, charts, and graphs. + Operates specialized equipment or performs tests that require knowledge of processes. + Experienced in the use of: Oscilloscope/Signal Generator and general test equipment + May assist engineering in the design of complex equipment, may provide input concerning design or feasibility of developmental, test, or experimental equipment. + Diagnose and correct operational problems or trouble sources on UAV, test equipment or test procedures. + Expected to provide feedback on production and test methods, product design issues, continuously strives to improve product quality and operational efficiency. + Develops solutions to extremely complex problems that occur, may assist Systems Testing Engineering with cause/corrective action. + May initiate the procurement of standard materials, services, and parts required for test of UAV’s and test equipment, may provide necessary liaison between System Test Engineering and the Integration Department. + Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. + Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. + Look up/read/comprehend standardized work instructions, drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and/or specifications. + Notifies Team leaders or supervision of any / all malfunctions, defects and damages of equipment, material, and production. + Must be willing to be trained in other areas of production where the skill level requirements may be lower. + Be willing to train peers with less experience of aircraft systems. + Additional Functions: + Performs housekeeping and cleanup duties as required. + May provide guidance or training to other technicians. + Other duties as assigned or required. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. + Training and/or experience from the military or a trade school highly desirable. + Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent aircraft system testing and troubleshooting. + Ability to diagnose complex mechanical/electrical problems and find effective solutions. + Special skills and expertise to use complex equipment for testing of UAV aircraft. + Communication skills necessary to write and record precise information. + Strong experience with Signal Generator and Oscilloscope + Must have a background in aircraft maintenance of the electrical or electronics systems installed on aircraft. + Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance is required. **Salary:** $56,180 - $83,518 **Travel Percentage Required** 0 - 25 **Relocation Assistance Provided** Not Provided **US Citizenship Required?** Yes **Clearance Required?** Desired **Clearance Level** Secret **Workstyle** Onsite General Atomics is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
