Job Summary
Operates a Spectrum Health Hospitals aircraft and maintains authority for decision making regarding acceptance of flights as it relates to safety, mechanical and weather conditions. Assists and supports leadership in all aspects regarding corporate policy and actions. Performs duties as specified in the Spectrum Health Hospitals General Operations Manual, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Operations Specifications (OPSPECs).
Essential Functions
Operates a Spectrum Health Hospitals aircraft.Maintains required documentation per FAA / company standards.Communicates, collaborates and acts as a resource to team members and others in order to facilitate continuity and coordination of services. Acts as a resource to members of the community in outreach initiatives.Maintain accountability for the safety of aircraft operations.Provides input into the development / revision of policies / procedures related to area of accountability. Participates in process improvement activities to improve outcomes.Demonstrates commitment to patient and team member safety. Considers safety as the primary factor in all decisions.
Qualifications
Fixed Wing Pilots: Three thousand five hundred hours total flight time, Two thousand five hundred hours Pilot in Command of multi engine aircraft, and one thousand five hundred hours of Pilot in Command of a turbine powered aircraft or be insurable as a ‘named pilot’. RequiredExperience in Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and night operation Required
