POSITION OVERVIEW The role involves providing facility maintenance, security, emergency services, detailed cleaning and disinfecting services, as well as moving and arranging services for the airport terminal and its surrounding campus. Key responsibilities include operating various types of cleaning equipment and machinery, such as high lifts, scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, pressure washers, and power washers. It is essential to maintain proficiency in the use and operation of all cleaning equipment. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with airport personnel to ensure the security and safety of airport facilities. This includes performing facility lockdowns, which encompass closets, offices, and entrance and exit doors. The individual will monitor for security breaches, unattended packages, and suspicious persons or activities, promptly reporting any unsafe or suspicious behavior to airport personnel. In case of emergencies, the employee will evacuate customers and isolate airport facilities as needed. Customer service is also a key aspect of the role, which involves assisting passengers, tenants, contractors, employees, and management by providing both solicited and unsolicited information. The employee may operate city vehicles for transporting propane and perform administrative duties, including completing forms, logs, and personal timesheets. The position requires knowledge of janitorial processes and procedures, as well as compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations and mandates, as well as city, departmental, state, and local rules and regulations, including FAA/TSA Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) requirements. Candidates must have the ability to understand oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in English, train others, communicate via two-way radio, and utilize computer software.
