We are currently recruiting for all shifts, including Days, Swing, and Night shift team members. Essential Functions Handles moderately complex to complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Each higher level is capable of performing duties of a lower level and provides leadership, coaching and/or mentorship as needed. The team maintains, repairs and operates fire detection and suppression systems, baggage handling systems, jet bridges, the Siemens DDC control panel and the domestic water system. Performs indoor and outdoor general facility repairs and remodeling activities such as patching, painting, door repairs, ceiling work, electrical maintenance and system troubleshooting. Troubleshoots meters and control circuits, security systems, gates and a wide array of mechanical and electrical devices. Upholds all safety standards and procedures when performing tasks to ensure the safety of the general public, coworkers and self. Utilizes protective clothing and materials when working with fluids and chemicals. Performs administrative tasks for purchasing and repair projects as assigned. Coordinates with supervisors and coworkers to ensure the airport is operational and to prioritize upcoming and current projects. Coordinates with co-workers to offer technical resource ideas and suggestions and makes routine decisions. Conducts annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily preventive maintenance (PM) inspections on airport systems, equipment, tools and tenant buildings. Operates equipment to remove snow from the terminal ramp, general aviation and freight ramps, and taxiways. Applies sand and de-icing chemicals to ramps, roads and walkways as required. Inspects lighting in the main terminal, parking garages or lots, exterior pole lights and outbuildings. Replaces burnt-out lamps, replaces broken fixtures and replaces and rewires ballasts. Operates heavy equipment with fall protection gear to access pole lights and high exterior building lights. Maintains main terminal HVAC system, consisting of 10 air handling units, roof-top units, cooling towers, boilers and chillers. Replaces filters and cleans coils, large air handler fan motors, variable air valves, duct actuators, and exhaust fan motors. Records statistics of all air handling units daily. Troubleshoots plumbing issues and leakage. Repairs and replaces toilet, urinal and sink components. Replaces water heater expansion tanks. Interacts with the public and provides information or directs them to appropriate personnel. Positions perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training + High school diploma or equivalent and experience performing repairs and maintenance in an industrial or commercial setting, + Technician: 2 years of experience, + Technician Sr: 4 years of experience, + Mechanic Sr: 4 years of directly relevant building system experience, or + an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training + Journey-level skilled trade or Limited Electrical license. + Building Operators Certification or equivalent. + Prior experience in a 24/7/365 operational facility. Knowledge of: + all aspects of facility maintenance; + safety and security systems, baggage handling systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs); + HVAC and related controls; + facility fire detection systems; + operation of equipment and tools used at the appropriate job level; + principles of electrical systems; and + computer usage including related software. Ability to: + comply with safety and security measures as required in an airport environment; + safely use a variety of hand and power tools; + communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; and + perform all essential functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation. + Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record. Licensing And Other Requirements + Valid state-issued driver’s license. + Ability to complete airport driver training/certification.
