Get your hard hat ready. We’re not just renovating the travel experience – we’re renovating our physical spaces too. And our Corporate Real Estate team is on the front lines of procuring, designing and developing spaces at all our hubs, stations and city locations across the world. From airport affairs and business services to planning and development, this team is responsible for all our leases and major construction and renovation projects, system wide.

Job overview and responsibilitiesServe as the gate layout subject-matter expert for corporate/station leadership (Station Operations Center, Ramp Service, Customer Service, Safety, etc.) and work collaboratively to address challengesLead the planning, programming, coordination, and development of airport master plans; manage on-call aviation planning services; recommend short-, medium-, and long-term plans to implement the companys strategic objectives; and support project managers in general planning tasksPerform planning analysis to identify facility requirements and level of service; work with designers to develop conceptual design for terminal systems including; lobby, security, passenger holdroom, concessions, passenger boarding bridges, aircraft parking layouts, and other related systemsCoordinate directly with Network Planning to review flight schedules for new aircraft/fleet roll outs and gate requirement changesManage technical analysis and provides recommendations for aircraft and gate parking to include aircraft movement areas and gates, remote parking, and hangar layoutPrepare deliverables for complex planning studies, which includes presenting technical information to senior leadership and stakeholdersManage projects, contracts, and invoicing for gate layout and striping effortsManage/lead Safety Risk Assessments

NOTE: This position provides a hybrid work arrangement including three days a week onsite at our downtown Chicago office location if not traveling. Domestic travel averages 1-2 days per week.

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):Bachelors degree in Aviation Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering or related field4 years direct experience in airline planning, airport planning, airline management and/or operationsFamiliarity with FAA Advisory Circulars and OrdersAirport Master PlanningAutoCADMicrosoft Office 365 Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ProjectStrong oral and written communication skills; ability to distill complex technical analyses in a clear, concise mannerAbility to work collaboratively with internal/external stakeholdersExcellent problem solving skillsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Airline/Airport/Aviation SMS TrainingAviPLAN5 years experience in aviation airfield and terminal planningKnowledge of airline operating procedures
