POSITION PURPOSE:
To provide 24-hour alarm monitoring and visitor control services for the National Defense University, Fort McNair campus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor and execute site security checks on critical assets, restricted areas, communications facilities, and rear parking lot. Conduct security checks of areas identified as high value/mission critical/restricted areas at a minimum every four (4) hours to verify areas are properly secured.Report any suspicious activity or issues to the base police or the appropriate staff.Monitor Lenel Security system equipment for proper operation.Notify Government personnel of any irregularities noted in the Lenel security system.Inventory and Monitor Keys and badges.Provide information and assistance to employees, visitors and guests.Control, issue, and maintain an electronic record of visits.Verify all personnel entering the facilities by ensuring all personnel present a Badge or identification (i.e., Common Access Card (CAC)). Cross reference it with the Lenel Security.Issue a temporary visitor’s badge as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma Required.2-3 years security experience.Skills and Abilities:
Must be proficient with all MS Office Suites.Must have Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) experience.Must be proficient with the Lenel System.Special Requirements:
Must have an active Secret ClearanceMust be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, Holidays, and weekends 7 days per week as needed. This is a Part-time/On-call position. In most cases, there will be scheduled workdays.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged walking is required to complete security checks.WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
