**Job Title: ALL SHIT - Machinist Apprentice - UP TO $28/HR!!** **Job Description** We are seeking a machinist apprentice to join our maintenance department. The candidate will be responsible for machining parts using manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, and drill presses, as well as welding using torch, MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques. Additional responsibilities include fabricating, reading blueprints, repairing machines on the floor, and troubleshooting conveyors and other machinery such as heaters, extruders, mixers, rollers, mixing processes, and boxing machines. **Responsibilities** + Machine parts using manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, and drill presses + Perform welding using torch, MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques + Fabricate parts as needed + Read and interpret blueprints + Assist with machine repairs on the floor + Troubleshoot conveyors and machinery, including heaters, extruders, mixers, rollers, mixing processes, and boxing machines **Essential Skills** + At least 1 year of experience operating manual machines (trade school graduates are welcome) + Mechanical aptitude and ability to fix things independently + Proficiency in reading blueprints + Experience operating a surface grinder and drill press + High school diploma or GED + Ability to fix machinery at heights of up to 60 feet **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Welding and fabrication skills (MIG, TIG, Stick, torch) **Why Work Here?** We offer a competitive pay rate for the area, along with a $2000 sign-on bonus paid out over four months and a $250 monthly attendance bonus for perfect attendance. The starting pay for apprentice level is $18.50 per hour with a $1 shift differential and a raise to $20 per hour plus shift differential after 90 days. For more experienced candidates, pay can go up to $28 per hour. The facility can get very hot in the summer (over 100 degrees) and cold in the winter. We employ a total of 207 people, with 11-12 working in the maintenance department.
