Job Summary:
The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Allergist/Immunologist to join Westchester Medical Center. As an Allergist/Immunologist, you will provide specialized care to patients with allergic and immunological disorders, conduct comprehensive evaluations, and develop personalized treatment plans. Your expertise in diagnosing and managing various allergic conditions and immunodeficiencies will contribute to our commitment to providing exceptional patient care, conducting cutting-edge research, and educating the next generation of medical professionals.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care Conduct thorough evaluations of patients presenting with allergic and immunological conditions. Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including skin tests, blood tests, and pulmonary function tests. Diagnose and manage a wide range of allergic conditions, such as asthma, hay fever, food allergies, and drug allergies. Evaluate and treat immunodeficiencies, including primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, and autoimmune disorders related to immunology. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including pharmacotherapy, immunotherapy, and lifestyle modifications. Provide counseling and education to patients and their families regarding their conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures. Research and Academic Contributions: Engage in clinical research projects related to allergic and immunological disorders, contributing to advancements in the field. Publish research findings in reputable medical journals and present research outcomes at national and international conferences. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement clinical trials and innovative treatment approaches. Participate in academic activities, such as teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and providing lectures and presentations. Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including other specialists, nurses, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Consult with other medical specialists when necessary to optimize patient outcomes and facilitate integrated care. Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives. Professional Development: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in the field of allergology and immunology, attending conferences, workshops, and continuing education activities. Maintain board certification and active licensure, adhering to professional standards and ethical guidelines.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Medical degree from an accredited medical school. Residency training in internal medicine. Fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology from an accredited program. Board certification or eligibility in Allergy and Immunology. Valid medical license to practice in the desired jurisdiction. Proven experience in diagnosing and managing a broad spectrum of allergic and immunological disorders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals. Commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping abreast of advancements in the field.
