Salary GradeNC20 - Salary Range: $65,876.00- $115,283.00 This position will execute the day-to-day activities and tasks required to lead multidisciplinary teams in the development, implementation, and delivery of Alternative Delivery transportation projects, regardless of transportation mode and regardless of funding source. This includes making decisions regarding impact to the public interest (cost and time vs. best engineering judgment) for questions of procedure, material selection, methods of construction, use of innovative procedures and construction staging. This position leads multi-disciplinary teams to develop, implement and deliver alternative contracts such as Design-Build, Express Design-Build Bridges, Progressive Design-Build, Sponsorship, CM/GC projects and Public Private Partnerships for assigned projects during the pre-construction phase to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, according to the project budget and the products prepared meet quality expectations. The Alternative Delivery Project Manager provides the Department with technical expertise to coordinate with multi-disciplinary personnel in the procurement and delivery of Alternative Delivery projects. The Alternative Delivery Project Manager must understand civil engineering disciplines, principles, and practices to ensure that the required engineering investigations and recommendations are complete and available prior to the Alternative Delivery procurement process. The Alternative Delivery Project Manager assists in the development of contractual documents and requirements, including but not limited to coordinating the multi-discipline Scopes of Work and Special Provisions, requiring a general understanding of the various NCDOT Unit responsibilities. The Alternative Delivery Project Manager assists in the review of preliminary and final design plans to ensure concurrence with the contractual requirements and Department policies and procedures. The Alternative Delivery Project Manager also assists with the contract administration and addresses contractual questions from contractors and designers.
