Amazon Grocery Associate - Plymouth Meeting, PA

Work Address: 500 W. Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting, PA, 19426 

Pay Rate: $16.25  per hour

Availability Requirements: Shift availability is dependent on operational needs.

Anytime: Must be available a minimum of 4 hours per week, Sunday-Saturday. Standard blocks of time will be offered to choose from based on store availability.

Job Overview

You’ll be part of the Amazon grocery team that supports one of Amazon’s newest initiatives. You’ll be working in both a small format grocery warehouse with automation and a Whole Foods or Amazon Fresh grocery store. Customers can choose everything from cereal to organic artisanal ice cream to fresh flowers, so you’ll be preparing orders, working in different environments – including refrigerated and freezer spaces for part of your shift along with periodically interacting with customers on the store floor.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Some of your duties may include:

Prepare grocery orders for deliveryUse technology like computers, smartphones, manage apps, and scan bar codesIntake new grocery inventory and put awayCheck for order qualityRotate tasks throughout the week

You’ll also need to be able to:

Lift up to 49 poundsWork in temperatures as low as -10°F and up to 90°F for extended periodsStand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shiftsUse carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items aroundGo up and down stairs (where applicable)Handle a variety of products – including a variety of meat and alcohol

We provide hearing protection if you need it.You’ll be working around moving machines – order pickers, stand-up forklifts, and mobile carts.Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs.You’ll work in freezer spaces — as low as -10°F — for up to two hours of your shift with short breaks every 30 minutes or you’ll work in the refrigerated spaces. You’ll be provided with proper safety gear and training.Dress code. Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for safety and to maintain customer experience. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required and protective safety footwear are required in select business units. Depending on the role or location, Amazon provides a $110 Zappos gift code towards the purchase of shoes, in order to have you prepared for your first day on the job.
