Ambulatory Clinic Nurse, Allergy and Asthma

Park Nicollet is looking to hire an Ambulatory Clinic Nurse to join our Allergy & Asthma team! Join a fun and collaborative Allergy and Asthma team with the benefit of a work-life balance that a specialty clinic offers!  This is an exciting role within a busy, fast-paced environment that allows a nurse to utilize their skills in a clinic setting. In this role, you will enjoy the variety of administering allergy and biologic injections, conducting breathing tests, applying and reading skin prick and intradermal testing, among other clinical tasks.  The nursing team also helps support oral food challenges and drug challenges, basic rooming tasks, patient education, and telephone triage.  The team supports a growing team of Allergists (six currently with a seventh joining in the Fall).  The clinic is open Monday-Friday with shifts ranging from 7:30-4/8:30-5:00 staggered during this time on a rotating schedule.   

This position would require that the team member travel to the Burnsville offsite once to twice per week, while spending the rest of their time at the Saint Louis Park main site (Hours at the Burnsville office are based on provider schedules). Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, nursing, diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and Park Nicollet Health Services policy. Accountability for the quality of care delivered, recognizing the limits of knowledge and experience; addressing situations beyond the nurse’s competency; and performing to the level of education, knowledge, and skill ordinarily expected of an individual who has completed an approved professional nursing education program. Supports multiple areas within a clinic setting with strong interpersonal skill and flexibility while maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights. Promotes a safe and therapeutic environment of care and advocates for the best interests of individual patients. Resolves concerns or complaints regarding patient care or service.

Work Schedule:
0.8FTE (4 days per week) 
M-F 8-4:30, with off day rotating

Required Qualifications:

Graduated from a school of nursing. Associate degree or diploma required. Maintain a current state certified registered nurse’s licensure. BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development necessary to provide appropriate care to the patient population served. Possesses the qualities of strong critical thinking skills and ability to multitask.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred. 1 year of prior experience in nursing preferred.
