Ambulatory Surgery Technician-TEMP
**Req Number** 134244 Job Description Assists in the preparation of surgical areas for the facility. Prepares and cleans rooms and anesthesia equipment. Maintains anesthesia equipment and supplies. Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery. Job Responsibility + *Assists in the preparation of the operation room prior, during and after surgery. Follows established Infection Control and safety protocols. + * Cleans operating room and Perioperative areas. Strips and makes beds, OR tables and stretchers. Disposes of all soiled materials and fluids in a safe manner. Cleans surfaces, floors, lights and all equipment including anesthesia machines. + * Performs housekeeping functions, including but not limited to, cleaning corridors and ancillary rooms and emptying trash and linen containers. Monitors environment and equipment to ensure cleaning standards are maintained. + * Checks, prepares and assembles anesthesia monitoring equipment daily. Assists in preparing equipment, including but not limited to change of anesthesia circuit, according to established patient safety and care procedures. + * Troubleshoots equipment, informs Anesthesiologist of problems and contacts Bio Medical department as needed. + * Assembles, cleans and drains cords, connectors and hoses of anesthesia equipment. + * Tests steris and autoclave machines and maintains records. + * Ensures adequate supplies, drugs and anesthesia and informs management when supplies fall below par levels. Ensures anesthesia supply carts are stocked at all times. + * Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery. + * Transports patients, supplies, equipment and specimens, as directed. + * Attends to Codes and emergencies as needed. + Performs related duties, as required. *ADA Essential Functions Job Qualification + High School Diploma or equivalent, required. + Successful completion of LIJMC's Turnover and Anesthesia Technician training programs, within probationary period, required. + Heartsaver certification, required.Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and oral instructions, required. + Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and oral instructions, required. + Ability to stay organized and work under pressure, required. *Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
