Job Overview:
This position is responsible for the court maintenance, cleaning and repairs.
Your Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of Opens tennis courts and prepares them by brushing, lining, rolling and watering. Checks courts for safety issues and cleans furniture, tables, chairs, water fountains and canopies. Follows all emergency procedures for hurricanes, fires, inclement weather and medical incidents. Implements all aspects of safety at all times. Opens, closes and organizes mid-day procedures on all courts in accordance with published standards. Prepares tennis area by securing wind screens, providing beverages, ice coolers, cups and score tenders and ensures nets are at regulation heights. Maintains equipment and machinery such as ball machines, remotes, carts, blowers, rollers, furniture, sprinklers and other equipment so that they are in excellent operational condition. Removes debris from courts, treats courts, replaces clay when necessary, weeds area, removes garbage and eliminates mold when necessary. Communicates by radio at all times with the Resort and Tennis Shoppe regarding schedules, court availability and weather issues. Monitors court conditions and performs preventative maintenance as required. Keeps all storage areas clean and organized at all times. Communicates with members, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner. Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions. Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of The Polo Club. Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Tennis Professional or Director of Tennis.
Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency preferred Previous custodial experience preferred Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required Requires knowledge of tennis court maintenance procedures. Requires knowledge of tennis regulations regarding court and net requirements. Must be in good physical condition, remain on one’s feet for long periods and be able to work in the heat. Must be a self-starter. Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing is preferred. Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English. Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers and members. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment. Maintain Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 lbs. following appropriate safety procedure Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time. Crawl in small and tight spaces; Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain). Walk and climb stairs; Handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment Reach with hands and arms Ability quickly and easily navigates the property/building as required to meet the job function Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands, and fingers Complete all required forms Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 3 ft).

As a part-time non-exempt associate, you will be eligible for supplemental benefits. Occasional travel may be required to attend training and other company functions.
Compensation: $20.00 Hourly
