The objective is to submit an AmeriCorps Host Site Grant in accordance with specified timelines set by Volunteer Iowa. The Bureau of Refugee Services plans to explore an AmeriCorps Apprenticeship program, giving refugee youth the opportunity to obtain and Associate Degree in Human Services while gaining employment experience at the Bureau of Refugee Services. The purpose of the AmeriCorps Planning Grant is to help the Bureau of Refugee Services explore AmeriCorps and National Service. Therefore, establishing the groundwork for a future successful application and execution of an AmeriCorps program. The planning grant process, resources and other support provided during the initial planning grant will help develop the necessary components to write an application for an AmeriCorps grant. If determined that AmeriCorps is a good organizational fit, the process to implement an AmeriCorps program will begin. Job Duties: 1. Collaborate with Volunteer IA staff in following manner throughout the life of the grant: + Individual Check-Ins (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) + AmeriCorps State Weekly Updates + Volunteer Iowa Monthly Webinars + Basecamp (this is an online platform that has resources, tools, templates, training links and chat feature to ask and respond to grant and member management questions with other Iowa AmeriCorps program staff. + Develop an array of member experience benefits and incentives that support members during their AmeriCorps service and encourage them to pursue careers in the human services field. 2. Collaborate with the Bureau of Refugee Services staff in the following manner throughout the life of the grant: + Team & Individual Check-Ins (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) to gain necessary feedback and foster communication and collaboration. + Development of future operational structure model to best support program. 3. Conduct outreach and gather research from stakeholders and the refugee community. 4. Define service member project areas and associated measurement standards. 5. Development of an AmeriCorps Service Member Engagement & Recruitment Plan (to include diverse and equitable recruitment strategies). 6. Complete the required four phases and quarterly assignments from Volunteer Iowa. This is a non-merit position. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section.
