Position Summary

The AML Compliance Associate will assist in identifying potentially atypical transactions and customer behavior by performing transaction analysis, ongoing monitoring, and third-party negative media searches as necessary throughout the disposition of alerts generated by the Bank's transaction monitoring system. In addition, the AML Compliance Associate also performs specialized reviews and analysis such as CTR filing, monetary instruments reviews, among others. The AML Compliance Associate may coordinate and participate in special projects relative to transaction monitoring as needed.
The AML Compliance Associate reports to the AML Compliance Manager.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyze transactional data and open public searches for the purpose of initiating, developing and bringing to successful conclusion transaction monitoring alerts.

• Identify and use appropriate research and analytical skills to achieve maximum efficiencies and effectiveness; in the monitoring transaction process and alert dispositions.

• Responsible for specialized reviews and analysis such as CTR filing, monetary instruments reviews, and others.

• Develop and participate in education, training and awareness activities as part of the transaction monitoring program.

• Maintains a good working relationship with and knowledge of business units and organizational groups within the Bank.

• Writes clear and concise comments to forcefully support the alert final dispositions.

• Coordinate and participate in transformational projects related to BSA/AML.

• Other duties as assigned or requested by Supervisor.

Education: Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience

Business Experience: 5 - 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated required level of proficiency

Specialized and/or Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of the Private Banking Industry and regulations.
• Ability to analyze risk data and provide recommendations and/or resolutions to mitigate risk scenarios.
• Ability to summarize, document, and communicate information in a clear and concise manner. 
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Ability to function in deadline intensive environment, managing multiple responsibilities while effectively focusing on priority issues.
• Knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC/Terrorist Financing related regulations.
• Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of macros and pivot tables.
• Excellent communications skills: writing & verbal.
• Advanced Knowledge of AML/OFAC related software.
• Preferred knowledge of ASSIST (monitoring transactions system).
• Knowledge of FinCEN CTR filing platform.
• Knowledge of FedExport and FedImport systems.
• Time management and basic project management skills.

Licenses / Certifications: AML certifications, preferred.

Languages: English and Spanish, required

Physical Requirements

Duties are performed in an office environment.  Physical demands could involve any or all of the following: digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in the operation of office equipment; light to moderate lifting (10-20 lbs.) and carrying of supplies, files, etc.; the ability to speak to and hear customers and/or other employees both telephone calling and in person; and body motor skills sufficient to enable the incumbent to move from one office location to another.

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown. Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

$73,125.00 USD

Maximum:

$125,000.00 USD
