Analyzes and evaluates the impact of government policies and regulations on the organization's activities and objectives. Researches, interprets, and analyzes proposed changes to regulations or government policy and prepares reports on how these changes may impact the organization. Prepares materials for meetings and other events involving government representatives to include executive summaries, point-papers, and talking points. Assists in the coordination of campus tours and meetings with elected officials and their staff. Directs inquiries from government representatives about the organization and its activities to a Subject Matter Expert (SME), as needed.

What Part Will You Play?

Conducts research and monitors ongoing and emerging legislative/ regulatory actions, at the federal and state-levels, on subjects of interest across the payments and financial services industry. Reviews, analyzes, and validates research results. Writes written analyses, executive summaries, point-papers, talking points, and contributes to the weekly Global Payments Government Relations (GR) Roll-up newsletter.Prepares in-depth analysis of federal and state issues that impact the organization and the payments industry in order to determine the potential impact on the company and identify potential opportunities for advocacy, influence, and coalition-building.Provides direct support to the organization's segment Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the preparation of materials to develop informational products that support the organization's GR strategy and connect governmental representatives with the organization's segment SME. Assists the GR team with the planning and execution of special events including campus tours and meetings with elected officials and their staffs.Identifies, develops, employs, and updates automated tools and databases to collate notes, reports, GR literature and other information in support of tracking issues.Provides background materials in support of setting, achieving, and measuring GR metrics to measure the return on investment of the organization's participation in Trade Organizations/Associations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's DegreeRelevant Experience or Degree in: political science, economics, communications, law, public relations or equivalent; additional relevant experience in lieu of degree consideredTypically Minimum 4 Years Relevant Expparalegal, law clerk, internship with state/federal official; research librarian
