TITLE:                               AMMONIA REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN LEVEL 2

LOATION:                         VARIOUS

COMPENSATION:            $25.00 - $30.00 / HOUR

 

PURPOSE:

 

Operate refrigeration equipment, perform basic electrical troubleshooting, and all level of maintenance repair and service of refrigeration equipment safely and in full compliance with company and legal requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

Attain and maintain all SOP execution and certifications. Understand and adhere to all regulatory requirements for PSM and RMP. Perform maintenance, repair and operation of industrial refrigeration equipment with little supervision and at a high skill level. Perform basic electrical troubleshooting with supervision. Provide clear professional explanation and coaching while training lower level staff. Oversee work completed by lower level staff, guidance and direction to keep work safe and in compliance to avoid issues from escalating. Successfully complete all required position relevant safety and compliance training. Pass exam for CARO certification from RETA. Meet the requirements of the Grimmway Electrical Qualification Program. Complete the 40 Hour Hazmat Certification Program. Complete and maintain Confined Space Rescue certification. Continual participation in the employer’s CA DMV Pull Notice Program. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

 

Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to operate hand and power tools. Ability to work outdoors. Ability to work on and build equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day. Ability to move in food processing facilities (sometimes through narrow passages, in wet areas, or on elevated platforms). Ability to continuously work with product and equipment at ground level. Ability to inspect equipment and product. Must be able to work in different temperatures (working temperatures as hot as 100° to 110° F and as cold as -20° F to 32° F). Must be able to work in a high noise area. Must be able to move items weighing up to 75 lbs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a minimum of two years of experience in the operation and basic maintenance of industrial refrigeration equipment.Understanding of and experience with regulatory requirements for PSM and RMP.Knowledge of basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook programs.Must be able and willing to complete training and maintain requirements for confined space rescue.Must be able to read and understand written information in English.Remote work not available for this position.Travel in the Bakersfield area could be frequent, between 10% - 25% of the time, as needed.Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record.Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation.
