Bowhead is seeking a skilled, full-time Ammunition & Explosives Logistics Specialist to join our growing team in support of Naval Amphibious Base (NAB), Coronado, CA.

Responsibilities

 

Provide daily recommendations for safe stowage of munitions and give daily recommendations for proper security of stowed munitions.Prepare proper documentation for daily ammunition and ordnance shipments and inform the military of best practices when packaging munitions and demolition shipments per established safety procedures and instructions.View all Unit Non-Combat Expenditure Allowance (NCEA) allowances daily and provide recommendations on effectively allocating ammunition and explosives between units/detachments to support missions training.Using historical data of the previous year’s stock levels, the contractor shall view the stock levels of ammunition and explosives daily and inform COR of current stock levels. Provide recommendations to the military of ordnances requiring ordering, including the quantities.Accompany military personnel approximately three (3) times per month to offsite locations to inventory ordnance. Military personnel will count the ordnance, and the contractor will verify counts are correct using the information populated by OIS Ordnance Information System (OIS).Realign ammunitions and explosives from one command to another via DD1348 and make preparations for disposal of ammunition and explosives by processing DD1348 for reshipment to the originating command or issue to another command for final disposal.Be available for scheduled monthly meetings and attend monthly Planning Board for Training (PB4T). Provide expenditure data, inventory levels, and projections based on future exercises and training at the board. Qualifications Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.Must have a High school diploma. GED allowable substitution. Certified Ammunition Supply Administration, CIN: A-041-0040, NEC: 814AMinimum of 3 years of experience in Ordnance Information Retail and Wholesale.Excellent Logistics management and customer services skillsPreferred ED experince.Preferred Ammunition & Explosives Logistics experince

Work is normally performed in an office, inside and outside the building environment. Includes working individually at work station, in group meetings, and in conjunction with other employees at their work stations.

 

Some walking, standing, stair climbing, bending; long periods of sitting and typing at the computer and while assisting customers in person or via the telephone.

 

The individual must be able to pick up items not exceeding 50 lbs. which may take the form of office supplies, reports, and office equipment.

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must have an active security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Secret clearance at this location.
