Position Summary

Brookfield Properties is looking for a highly motivated individual with strong analytical experience to work on the Hospitality Asset Management team. This position will support the, Asset Management group with meeting the team’s objectives of increasing asset value through collaboration with hotel managers to uncover revenue growth opportunities and expense reductions. The ideal candidate must be strategically minded with a strong understanding of hospitality trends, hotel operations, and financial analysis and modeling..

This individual will be required to review financial metrics and reports including, but not limited to profit and loss statements, forecasts, STR data, and sales & revenue management data.

Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive knowledge of assigned assets through market research and in-depth asset review and analysis

Conduct comprehensive analysis of profit & loss statements - performance against budget and prior year, research variances, and recommend operational changes to meet performance objectives and positively impact asset value

Analyze forecast variances week over week and month over month – identify risk and opportunities

Assist with quarterly portfolio reporting and board meetings as needed

Assist with creating strategic goals and objectives for each assigned property and track performance against these goals

Prepare analysis and track action items for weekly property calls to support asset performance objectives

Assist with return on investment analysis for proposed capital expenditure projects

Provide analytical support to the Hospitality Asset Management team on potential acquisitions, refinancings and dispositions

Foster positive relationships and liaise with third-party managers and others within the Hospitality group

Assist in meeting coordination, preparation, and follow up between  Asset Management and hotel operators

Complete special ad hoc projects and analysis as required

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or related field preferred

1-3 years of hospitality asset analyst or hotel finance experience required

Strong analytical skills with the ability to review, analyze, and report on varied quantitative and qualitative hotel metrics

Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, well-organized, and results-drive professional with the ability to learn quickly

Reliable, diligent, and hard working with capability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-moving team environment

Ability to analyze large data sets across multiple sources to facilitate decision-making

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously

Proficiency in full suite of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

Salary Type: Exempt

Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly
