Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing a high quality regulatory advisory service to Management the various product and support offices across the Bank on local regulatory requirements, including but not limited to foreign exchange requirements under various laws, regulations, regulatory notices and guidelines in order to ensure the Bank’s compliance with these requirements.Actively guide and follow up with the business/product and support offices across the Branch to ensure that any required changes have been implemented and policies and procedures created or updated.Develop recommendations for continuous improvement and support implementation as well as taking appropriate action to correct the violation of laws, regulations (including reporting any suspicious act) or the Bank’s Compliance Manual and Standard Procedures in accordance with the internal procedures.Perform ad hoc reviews based on risk areas and / or thematic review pertaining to local laws and regulations.

Requirements:

Applicant must have a recognized Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or its equivalent from a recognized university/higher learning institution.Strong self-motivated person who can work under minimal supervision with professional communication, interpersonal, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong knowledge of Malaysian, Japanese and US Banking regulations / guidelines in relation to Financial Crime Risks (money laundering, terrorism financing, sanctions evasion and bribery / corruption).Excellent written and oral communication skills in dealing with employees or external customers/client.Strong stakeholder management sills to collaborate with other departments.Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Compliance and/or Legal. Additional experience in related fields will be considered as an advantage.
