Job Description
Under general supervision, primarily focused on anti-money laundering (AML), provides support and consultative advice for business unit activities, including reviews of Wealth Management prospects and clients, researching and identifying issues, reporting, and other duties as assigned. Detects and advises management of potential AML Compliance issues and recommends procedural changes.
Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of AML, Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulatory requirements as they apply to U.S. Wealth Management clients. Particular emphasis on deposits, lending, and trust products and services is preferred to effectively perform client reviews.Analytical and communication skills are necessary to consult with and communicate information to partners; to analyze and summarize information; and to apply AML laws and regulations to the Company’s business.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Major Duties
Provides support to the Wealth Management business unit as it relates to AML/KYC remediation initiatives. Reviews client files for conformance with applicable AML/KYC policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Provides support and functional knowledge as it relates to compliance with applicable AML/KYC laws, rules and standards. Identifies and escalates to Global AML management any regulatory compliance risks associated with the file reviews completed. Participates in all applicable training. Carries out business-related activities that may be required to support Global AML Compliance guidelines. Provides support as requested by Global AML Management as necessary to resolve compliance issues, including actions in response to Regulatory exam and Audit findings.
Experience/Qualifications
0-2 or year's experience, preferably in AML Compliance or risk management; or equivalent related experience.Knowledge of risk management and the Company’s strategic goals.In-depth knowledge of applicable AML/KYC laws and regulations, acquired through formal education and work experience, is required.CAMS or FIBA certification is a plus.Knowledge of Actimize CDD Tool is also a plus.#LI-LK2, #LI-Hybrid
Salary Range:
$58,425 - 93,385 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
