Job DescriptionRole Purpose
The Analyst, Consumer Protection Compliance, within the Corporate Legal Department, will support the team responsible for coordinating and providing oversight to all business units across NBCUniversal to comply with domestic and international consumer protection laws, regulations, and industry standards. This role will report to the Vice President of Consumer Protection Compliance.
Job Duties
Design and maintain consumer protection compliance legal guidance wiki hub and webpagesAssist attorneys with preparing and conducting general and business-unit targeted consumer protection compliance trainings; keep and report training recordsSupport the development of a centralized control for monitoring compliance with consumer protection legal requirements, in partnership with the Office and Technology team supporting Privacy and Accessibility, Corporate Legal Affairs Office and Technology team, and NBCUniversal ComplianceWork with Compliance team in tracking and following up on status of technical compliance with consumer protection legal requirements across all NBCUniversal business unitsMonitor, review, and provide written summaries of consumer protection legal blogs and newsletters, as well as relevant law enforcement news, to help compliance team stay apprised of consumer protection regulatory or litigation priorities and trendsLiaise with multiple business verticals across the NBCUniversal portfolio on matters regarding consumer protection law, including as a member of the Consumer Protection Working Group and Customer Care Working GroupExecute legal quality control by regularly reviewing NBCUniversal websites and apps related to direct-to-consumer products and services, to assist in ensuring compliance with consumer protection legal requirementsArchive, review, and compare sign up and cancellation flows or other consumer-facing touchpoints across business unitsHelp prepare agendas for working group or business unit meetings about consumer protection related issuesTrack consumer protection compliance projects and timelinesEngage with colleagues in a collaborative, positive and proactive mannerPerform other compliance program related duties or projects as neededQualificationsBasic Requirements
Juris Doctorate (JD) degree, or Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a professional role supporting lawyers and/or on compliance mattersHighly skilled with SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPointDesired Characteristics
